Colonial’s Be the L.I.G.H.T. Discipleship PathwayDiscipleship Pathway is a simple guide for taking your next step in following Jesus. We use the acronym L. I. G. H. T. to capture the heart of the journey. Spiritual growth becomes clearer when you know what step to take next.

Hospitality Team
Volunteers at our Welcome Desk help create a warm welcome for those who are new to Colonial and/or need a little help! Other Sunday serve opportunities include greeters, ushers and parking lot hosts…all of whom are essential to creating a warm and welcoming experience for both visitors and regular attendees. Serving on Sunday is a GREAT way to meet people and minister to those who are led to Colonial on a Sunday morning.

Kids
Our Kids Ministry is designed to teach kids about Jesus in a safe and fun environment. We are always grateful for those willing to serve as teachers in the classrooms; overseeing check in, and/or prepping materials each week!

Students
If you love middle and high school students, then Student Ministry might be a great place for you to volunteer! There are a myriad of ways to serve in the Student Ministry including small group leaders on Wednesday nights, bus drivers, playing on the worship band, and other roles.

Prayer & Care
As a church family it is our desire to care for one another. Through Colonial Cares, our Prayer and Care Ministries, Friends in Christ offer support through prayer, calls, cards, visits, meals, bouquets, and other expressions of Christian love. There are many opportunities to serve and be served as we Love Generously.

Tech Team
Our production includes a variety of volunteers: Audio Visual, Lighting, Stage Design, and running the Live Stream. Each volunteer helps make a Sunday morning run smoothly. If you’re creative, reliable and love to help behind the scenes this might be the serve opportunity for you. Don't worry if you’re not skilled yet, we provide the training you need.

Local Missions
Through partnerships with God-honoring local organizations, Colonial strives to share the love and compassion of Christ by caring for the physical, spiritual, and practical needs of individuals and families. We believe sharing our time, giftedness, and resources throughout the Kansas City metro is one way we can be the Light of Christ in our hurting culture.
Partner organizations
Global Missions
God calls each of us to join Him in reaching the nations. Our areas of international opportunities focus on serving refugees, planting churches, supporting Scripture Translation, partnering with media broadcasting ministries, education, and international orphan care. We regularly host short-term mission trips to help people personally discover God’s heart for reaching every nation, tongue, and tribe.

Missionaries
Providing holistic care while sharing the hope of the gospel is how missionaries serve the oppressed and underserved. We hope to stir our Church family toward serving with the humility and selflessness of Christ while living missionally. Colonial partners with over 70 missionaries serving across 32 countries. Through prayer and giving, countless lives have received the Gospel Message of Christ.
